About Us

Welcome to the Binghamton Gaming League, also refered to as the BGL.

We are a group of video gamers based in the southern tier of upstate New York who made it our mission to organize the multitude of like-minded individuals in the area to have fun. We currently hold at least one event per month, each and every one being open to all who wish to attend.  And as our previous events can attest to, we aren't in it for the money.  As long as we break even, we're happy.  We hope that you will find your way to our next event.

Happy Gaming

Our Mission

To create a fun and friendly venue for local gamers to meet and compete.

A Brief History

The Binghamton Gaming League was founded in January of 2010 with the purpose of organizing the best Lan Parties in the Northeast.  Sufficient to say, this goal was a bit more then would be possible.  But without a second thought, the BGL went to work organizing XLAN.  A Mega LAN Party, XLan would have accomodated up to 800 players and lasted three full days.  In addition to the extreme scope of the event, we also had the intention of breaking the world record for the longest Lan Party.  Unfortunatly, after five months of hard work, XLan came to a complete halt as the biggest challange of getting 800 players hit us hard.  With only 40 players with paid admittance, the event was canceled and so too was the BGL...

After an extended cool down time, the BGL decided to take the proper course and start small.  A series of failed attempts wound ensue.  Finaly, in the beginning of 2011, the BGL had a turn of luck.  In cooperation with the engineering club at BCC, the BGL was able to host its first lan party.  Although only a scant 15 people showed up, it was a good start.  A second lan party yielded similar attendance, but by the third, over 30 people. It is apon these humbling beginings that we build towards the future. And who knows, some day soon, you might see a poster for XLan
(fingures crossed).
